Jay Scott picture   Jay Scott, a frequently quoted resort consultant, analyst and
speaker, has worked in the hospitality industry throughout
California, and internationally since 1971. Prior to founding his
own firm, Scott Hospitality Consultants, in 1990, he led the
hospitality consulting group for Laventhol & Horwath CPAs.
Before that, Mr. Scott worked for Westin Hotels and Resorts.

Resort consultant Jay Scott holds a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Cornell,
and a B.A. in English literature from the University of the South. He studied in the
Real Estate and Finance Graduate Programs at Golden Gate University, where he
also served as an instructor.

   
   
     
  Mr. Scott is active in the sale and purchase of hotel products in California.
On behalf of both buyers sellers, he performs services including market studies,
financial projections, property valuations, property inspections, and market positioning
assessments. In recent years, he participated in transitions for the following hotel properties.

City of Sacramento - Assessing the financial risk of the
Redevelopment Agency providing financial support to a
floating hotel and restaurant docked in Old Sacramento.

  City of Reno, Nevada - Preparing a market analysis for a proposed rehabilitation
of the downtown Riverside Hotel into a non-gambling, all-suites facility.
  Stanly Ranch, Napa - Assessing the potential for developing a lodging facility on
the Stanly land, which would be a integral part of a comprehensive destination resort.
  Presidio Army Base, San Francisco - Analyzing the Public Service Hospital's
potential as a lodging facility.

guest rooms and amenities, including the Spa Plan, an
integral part of the analysis.

class C transient lodging facility to a deluxe destination resort and spa.
  Claremont Resort, Berkeley, CA - analyzing the viability of capitalizing on the spa
program through integration with a new wing of guest rooms dedicated to spa users.
  Nob Hill Lamborne Hotel, San Francisco, CA - analyzing the possibility of
